I am an Auburn Fan, this is the first time in the Sugar Bowl since 1989. I was a single man then waiting until April for my bride. I wish no harm to the Hokies from Va. Tech,...but WAR EAGLE!!!!<br />ps. for the other bowl games other than the Rose were a stomp. I did enjoy seeing the bands though, especially Texas A&M and Texas. It is fun to watch the bands at halftime in the bowls.

Quite possibly looking at a undefeated third place team. I still promote the bowl games out of tradition

The BCS is worthless. They should have an 8 team playoff to decide the national champs.

BOWL REVENUE! Its a big business Gauge, and until they figure out how to fill the Univ's pockets......it won't happend. The tradition of the bowl games outweighs the fact "who is #1" for me. JMO

Playoffs or not, there will always be controversy. Someone would moan that they should have been in the playoff. Some team will get a bad call against them. <br /><br />Playoff is not "the answer". <br /><br />I commend Auburn last night as they passed up the opportunity to "choke" as California did the other day. VT looked like the team playing under pressure, dropping passes and overall offensively looking out of it. As a football fan, I found the game boring and played video games intead, checking in between games.

You could still have the "bowl games" to make the revenue, but a playoff system would bring in even more cake...look at the NCAA basketball final four, big money there.

GG.. <br />The "March Madness" is figured into the team's schedule. To have a college playoff, you'd most likely have to drop a game from the current setup, in addition these conference championship games would have to go too. I can't see that happening. Like Tylerin said.... it's about the $$$. Football provides the backbone financially so you can have Field Hockey and such.

If anything, they should have one more game in college football and it should be the winners of the two major bowl games that have the top four teams in it.<br /><br />They can call it the National Championship bowl.<br /><br />I'm a Bama fan myself, but am happy that Auburn won since I do root for the SEC in bowl games. They deserve a share of the National Title in my opinion. It won't break my heart if they don't get it though. :)

USA Today/ESPN Coaches top 25 had Oklahoma at #3 and so did AP. Who had them at #4 behind Utah??

Tuned in at halftime to see the score... yawned... went back to watching Greta.<br /><br />"The Game" had little interest over here to begin with. I'll bet the TV ratings other than in CA or OK went into the toilet.<br /><br />(And to think some actually thought Ohio State should have pursued the Oklahoma coach more vigorously.... glad we got Tressell!)

Re: Sugar Bowl!!

What torks my crank about the whole BCS thing is that all we have heard is strength of schedule. Well I just looked at the NCAA final list and Auburns Schedule was much harder than either USC or OK. Now I am not saying that AU would have beaten USC last night, but I feel very strongly that it would have been a much closer harder fought game. Oh yeah, what about Utah? They looked as good as anybody in the bowls. With all the $ and all the fan support, there just has to be a better way.
