Re: SugarSand Jet Boats
Ultra, you crack me up...

A couple of points to add:

First, Nine people on that boat should NEVER happen, regardless of its rating. 9 people belong on a 30'+ cruiser...

Second, if you were even somewhat interested in skiing, the boats performance would be altered in many ways due to such a heavy load:

a. wake shape - the more boat in the water, the more the shape of the natural wake is changed.

b. spray - going into shortline slalom, the amount of weight would SIGNIFICANTLY increase water to the face of the skiier(not to mention below the belt)

c. holeshot/power - 9 people @ approx 140 # each = 1260 - add 8 more skis, boards, food and drink, you're OVER the approved load rating and probably couldn't get a skiier up anyways. I have a 20'5" competition ski boat (the Texas River Rat) and I limit my load to 6 people MAX if we wish to ski at all.

d. tracking - more people/equipment = less ability for the boat to stay on course.... Of course, the light weight nature of this boat will have an effect as well. I am not a big guy at 6'00" and 155#, but I can alter the course of any inboard by the amount of pull i generate.

Point is, this boat is not made for skiing, so I hope Pam isn't disappointed upon figuring that out. One pull behind an inboard would open anyone's eyes.
