Hello,

I have a Yamaha 2 stroke 9.9hp short shaft on a 10ft boat. The props and the engine are ultimately replaceable but from the river run I have near me I can tell my props will be well abused. My stock propeller is 9" pitch I believe. I can go up to 11" and go from 3 to 4 blades. I like the planing of the boat and don't have any problems w/performance I want to fix, but I thought I would have some fun with prop choice. I can sacrifice acceleration but wanted to hear advice about going up to 11" or not and whether to go with 3 or 4 blades.

Oh, I have a cheap blowup that doesn't have any keels, fins or ??(forgot what those minor runner tubes on the bottom are called). Will my boat perform a full throttle turn? Do you shift weight or position for this maneuver?

Thanks cats

Edit: My boat is a raised floor catamaran.

4 blade props will give you a better hole shot, where the 3 blade will give you better top end, stick with a 3 blade 11p stainless steel .....

Yes you can do a full turn at full throttle, it is alot of fun, just lean into the corner ..... I can do a full 90 degree turn with my race boat at 103 km/h, pushing me 3g's but it is alot of fun .....
