Be careful with the magic eraser on vinyl. It does work pretty good but it is also slightly abrasive and will rough up the finish if you scrub to hard or to long. I use them but am careful not to get to aggressive. They work GREAT for marks and stains on the gel coat though !!

I always used Softscrub and a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and my seats always came out super white! I even used it on the yellowing top coat of the bow but its pretty abrasive and after several years (owned and enjoyed that boat for a total of 7 years) it will cut that gelcoat and even though its bright it will not be glossy and you'll be able to feel the difference. Good on seats to clean them up once a few years or for tough stubborn stains is fine.

After trying lots of different products I am very happy with the results using spray nine and mr clean magic eraser. Following up with 303 protectant.

dirty seat.jpgdirty pontoon seat.jpgFINISHED PONTOON SEAT.jpgdirty seat.jpgdirty pontoon seat.jpgFINISHED PONTOON SEAT.jpgI just cleaned my 2001 pontoon boat that had mildew stains on the seats. I am the third owner and I know that the previous owner was not so kind to the seats so I used Magic Erasers that others have said not to use.
1. Use 4/1 mixture of water/ammonia and scrub with a Scotch Brite non-scratch scrub sponge.
2. Go over seats with Magic Erasers from the Dollar Store.
**For tough spots, I used hydrogen peroxide mixed with the ammonia solution or straight out of the bottle with the Magic Eraser.
3. Rinse with water.
4. Protect with 303.
It worked really well! There are still some faint mildew marks but it removed 95% of the stains. One bottle of Ammonia and one of hydrogen peroxide (which are cheap), one Scotch Brite pad and 6 Magic Erasers. Costs less than one bottle of fancy vinyl cleaner and the seats look great!
