Re: Suggestions for new posters

Hey, fordrule56, whatcha gripeing about??!! At 90 bucks plus an hour you should be happy they screw it up. Keeps ya in business. :D Only kidding, but at those kinds of prices for repairing a "toy" it's no wonder people try to repair first and take to dealer later. Most people buy used because they can't afford new, just like cars and then try to maintain with as little expense as possible. For something that only gets used a few times each year some of the maintenance costs are hard to justify to the spouse, hence the need to tinker and look like you've tried your best.

Re: Suggestions for new posters

Start a new topic, tender, and start it in the correct forum.

This thread has gotten so long with hijacking posts that people forget the suggestions before they get to the end.

Re: Suggestions for new posters

My only sugestion is probably from a pet peeve; but please, especialy for a long post, use some sort of punctuation and paragraphing.

It doesnt have to be perfectly correct, but breaking the various thoughts or ideas into paragraphs, and inserting punctuation marks in their aproximate place make the post much more readable and easier to follow.

I recently attempted to digest a very wordy post with multiple questions but without a single punctuation, capital letter or break-just a stream of words

The best thing you can do if you have a question is please use thisSEARCH. It makes life easier and you can bump a thread to the top just by posting in it. :)

I guess my pet peeve is a bump ten minutes after the first post.

Re: Suggestions for new posters

Excellent recommendations JB, way way back at the start of this thread. It's incredible that it's a magnet for fresh topics despite what you posted.

Maybe you should close the thread. You'll be here all night:)

When I started looking for Outboard info on the web about 5 years ago I came across a guy called Mastertech looking $20 dollars a pop for outboard info. The help Rodbolt etc provide for free is outstanding and greatly appreciated.

I'm sure most people like myself really enjoy just reading the posts and replies. If there were less posts it might get a bit stale. Loads of new stuff keeps it fresh. It seems to work well as it is.

Thanks.

Andy
