Suggestions -- sealing a speaker hole cutout

1986 Rampage 24 Express

Removed an old speaker and found that the speaker hole cutout has exposed balsa core.

Suggestions on how to seal this before installing new speaker? West Systems? Other?

Carefully - That stuff is good sealant, but is as runny as warm maple syrup until it begins to cure. Misting with water speeds the cure.

Could also give it a couple coats of spar varnish or polyurethane... or poly resin.... or eeeeeeepoooooxy resin. Lots of options.
