Need Help...<br /><br />I am restoring a 13ft Boston Whaler. The Deck has been sitting out in the sun, yet the fiberglass appears to be firm and in relatively good condition, it just has some small stress cracks as a result of sun exposure and age. Is there a paint that can fill up the holes to make it like new again?<br /><br />I'm gratefull for any advice

Re: Sun Beaten Fiberglass Question.

Zoo - Welcome & lots of info here on your problem. The site has a number of sections such as this one. Another is Project Boats. Try both. There is a red Search function at the top of the page. Go there & enter a couple of search arguements like "paint" or "stress cracks" or whatever & reas away.

Re: Sun Beaten Fiberglass Question.

I have used lots of products to get rid of Oxidation. I find that Meguires "One Step Compound" works great if it's moderate oxidation. 3-M makes all kinds of rubbing compounds that take care of extreme oxidation but they are costly. Try One Step Compound... you won't be dissapointed.

Re: Sun Beaten Fiberglass Question.

spend more time and money the first time do it right and later just maintain it ..usually even if you buff it out it will come back in a few months i would suggest wet sending followed by polishing compund and than some kind of wax ...i wet sanded half of my boat and buffed out the other coz i was tired of wet sending and i can already tell the difference...wet sanded area is still nice and shiny the other is already dull and boat hasnt been in the water yet just sitting...i guess i have to do it again<br /><br />Dom
