I have a 1992 model 19ft Sunbird bowrider with a "Quietrider" 115 outboard. I have neglected it over the years and decided to try getting it usable again. I noticed the floor was soft in places with lots of wood rot. I don't know what the stringers look like.
Question: Can I mount marine grade plywood over the existing floor and re-carpet? I know it is not the ideal way to repair it but the boat is not worth sinking a ton of money into...I just want it usable...any advice? thx

Re: Sunbird Floor Restoration

it's quite a bit of added weight and the 115 wont move it too well, assuming that you dont run a screw thru the fuel tank or an electrical line. The bulkhead may be rotted near the flooring also.
