Did not really appear any larger than usual here. It was, however, closer to the horizon than usual; and really beautiful. Very bright, and well defined.

Lured the family to the ocean with the promise of ice cream afterwards so they would join me for the moon rise last night. On the horizon, the moon was red and larger than the sun. It morphed into yellow then a very bright white. When it was yellow a sliver of a cloud passed thru the center and my always hungry 13 yo son quipped " it looks like a giant cheeseburger, can we get ice cream now!". NOAA claims it was 15% larger and brighter than average.
