I have BEEN doing a lot of looking into paint for the new boat I am building. I was looking at the Interlux but heard it scratched easy.Has anyone ever used or know anything about the paint called Super Marine. The comphny is in WA.
I'm three years into my Interlux Brightsides Paint and I have to say that your information is wrong about scratching easy. It's a very tough paint, but the only time I've put any marks on it is when I hit my wharf very hard and it did leave a mark. But I mean I really hit hard and it was on a nail head. It was very windy and I had to come in hard, but the wind blew me into my wharf and I hit perfectly on a nail head. But it's the only time that I've seen any damage like that. This is a very tough, hard paint, and I will not use any other kind of paint.
The new interlux with teflon will not scratch easily, its very high quality.
Epoxy paint is harder but then the problem is chipping.
I would go with interlux, its so easy to use.
I used a $2 disposeable brush and it flowed out perfectly.
