I was able to get some more work done today on the boat. First I pulled off the motor:

Then I yanked the splashwell and exposed the transom:

Next on the agenda is to get that transom pulled, rebuilt, and installed.

This project has officially taken over the entire garage.

Good progress, Manny. Hey - If you had a 12 car garage it still wouldn't be big enough!

Good stuff Manny... keep in mind on those back corners... the gunwales can be bend up and out of the way instead of cutting them off. I know most cut them off... but I've always bent them up and then bent them/hammered them back down with no issue at all! Keeps it solid back there and in your case --- there wouldn't be a gaping hole!

Keep it rollin' man... lookin good!

Re: Supersport 18 - V5! I'm Gonna Restore This Bad Boy

Hello All,
Been a while since I posted. Between building a garage, fencing in my yard and other stuff around the house I got a little sidetracked. Anyhow I got my boat done. I could not have gotten it to this point without learning so much from all of the posts on this site. It doesn't do justice to some of the beautiful restorations others have shared. She works for me and I am happy. I did your standard transom/foam/decking/paint. I also rebuilt the carbs, changed the thermostats, and installed a new waterpump on the Johnson 140. She runs great! Thanks again everyone.

I did take pictures of the work as I went along. I noticed there are a couple more V5 restorations floating around. My boat was 99.9% original and in tact when I bought it. If any off you needs pictures of anything let me know. Here is how it sits today:
