I have a 1988 25hp Evinrude....
It's running great no problem at all....
I was wondering if I should switch to Supreme fuel? Will it run even better? Will it help clean out any carbon deposits or am I just waisting my money? If Supreme fuel won't make any difference is there an additive I can use to help clean interior motor components or should I leave it as is?
Thanks

Re: Supreme Fuel...

I'm not implying that anything is broken, but if running a better fuel is better for the engine, then why wouldn't I do that?????!?!?!?

Your engine should run fine on 87 octane fuel, to keep the engine running at's is best, use OMC carbon guard, and mix as according to direction's.

If you do a few searches on things like "fuel" and "octane" you will have almost endless reading material on the subject.

I think the general concensus is that 87 octane will work best. Although I'm no expert on the issue, I recall reading a few posts that suggest higher octane fuels will actually contribute to more engine deposits rather than reduce them.

Cheers,

Brew
