Hey Guys-

So I filled my empty surge brake resovoir and shortly after cleaned up the brake fluid that leaked out. It leaked from the main area that's on the trailer tongue, but I don't know what was leaking. I don't know anything about surge brakes at all...

Are surge brakes repairable or am I going to have to replace the entire brake controler or ...??? Thanks.

Re: Surge brakes leaking

It depends where it's leaking from. You have to figure out that before you can get help repairing. Could be leaking at the hose-master cylinder connection, or most likely, a leaking master cylinder.
I ordered a bunch of replacement parts for my Dico model 10 from www.championtrailers dot com
If your actuator/coupler is bolted on, it may be easier to just replace it. Mine is welded, so it was more cost effective to replace components.
