Been on the 'Rude forum for quite a while trying to find ways to improve the hole shot and performance of my boat. Arrived at trying a new prop and fitting smart tabs. When I fitted the smart tabs, to my horror, the wood that came out of the holes I drilled was soggy. I suppose that means my transom is water logged. Probably other parts also. Where do I go from here? Any help appreciated.

Re: Suspect transom

Tilt the motor up and use it as a lever. See if you can flex the transom. That will let you know how much of the plywood core has rotted out. <br /><br />Try searching this forum for the keyword "rotten transom"<br /><br />There are several ways of tackling this sort of problem. Non of them are easy, some are just not as difficult as others.
