Hi I have an older suzuki DT-150 supersix the it starts just fine when its cold. but once it is running for a bit and you give it throttle it wants to cut out the only way to get it up to speed is to keep choking it once its wide open and doing 50 mph is runs great. but then when you shut it down to fish or ski it smokes like mad. anyone have any ideas?? oh yea i have to change plugs quite often they get all black. im thinking maybe bad fuel pump??
thanks
Bill

I have never worked on a suzuki, but I would guess that your idle jet in the carburator is cloged up. the engine automatically richens the fuel air mix and opens the throtle when the choke is on.

If you havent cleaned your carbs recently, you probably need to anyway.

get a manual first.

Ah... de ole super 6:). Look behind the oil tank and you will find 2 fuel pumps. These are known to vibrate loose and cause a vaccum leak.(lean) Also check your TVS (throttle valve sensor) could be dirty(use throttle valve cleaner only) or lose. Last but not least, look where jugs bolt onto block. If it looks like black oil leaking thru the seams , it gasket replacement time:(
