Cost of gas?? How about this, one buck for a 16 once bottle of spring water. 1.50 for a gallon of gas. Go figure!!
Flathead------ Driving my 2500 dodge big block gas guzzling 4 wheel drive 10 mile to the gallon and not feeling bad about it at all. lol :D

Re: SUV's & Terroists ?

I'm just curious about the future of technology. If we are able to eliminate ourselves from using oil and it becomes obsolete. Then our oil reserves will then be useless.

It reminds me of the stories of people being found dead from starvation/dehydration but having water and food with them. They rationed out their supply so much that it didn't do them any good because they rationed too little to keep them alive. Are we going to hang onto our supply until it becomes obosolete and too expensive to process?

While our officials refuse to keep American money in America for American oil, it will still keep spending our hard earned cash for that mid east oil.

I still think we need to use our own oil, cut off the supply of money to the mid east until technology finds an alternative for our own power needs.

I know the thinking is that we need to keep our reserves for future generations. But what if our future generations won't need it. During the steam powered days, they were probably worried if there was going to be enough coal and wood to supply the country. We still have coal and wood, but we don't rely on steam power as much as it was. So lets keep spending our money for someone elses oil, while we have our own. Sorry, but that just doesn't make any sense to me.

Or does our elected officials think that if we can use up all of the mid easts oil, then it will be our turn to have the power of owning the oil? Good Grief, I hope they are not thinking that way.

Just some thoughts to think about. SS.... :)

Let me guess. You are not an economist, right?
If for whatever reason, we stopped buying oil from the mideast, the price of world oil would drop. Which means the price of our own oil would drop. Which means we would not pump it. Which means we would be buying oil from non-mideast sources. Which means that the people that were buying from those non mideast sources would start buying from the mideast. Which means that the oil price would reach equilibrium according to supply demand relationships, and the mid easterners would get their money, one way or another.

It is called globalization.

Moose, I know what you mean, pricing is outrageous. Not to mention the only retailers are located in CA and AZ. From what I recall, I used to work not for but with GM, there was talk of expanding the network of dealers supplying the vehicle. I don't know how far that idea went through the system or if it is still being discussed.
