Suzuki 115Hp Carburetors

I have a 1995 115Hp Suzuki Outboard with Mikuni carburetors. The boat has been in and out of the shop for th past six months while the shop has been trying to trouple shoot the motor "coughing" between 900-1200 rpm. The mechanic recently diagnosed the problem as a bad carburetor that was "popping", (his words,not mine). He reported that the Carb was a Mikuni Carb that is no longer produced was was attempting to find a used one. This has been the repair from hell as they have attempted to isolate the problem and the $ meter keeps going "KaChing KaChing". Are these carbs for a 1995 engine really no no longer produced and what are my options? The motor has low hours and I really don't want to think about replacing it. Any advise would be appreciated.

hello<br /> I cant advise on whether or not its still avalible. call fridays marine maybe in saluda VA. most the time that problem is due to trash or varnish in the carb. how long has the problem been there and when did it start?
