Can anyone give me feedback on the new Suzuki 140hp 4 stroke? I am worried about Suzuki (in general) reliability. Do they generally make good and reliable outboards?
I haven't been able find many people that have any experience with them.

Thanks much?

I have a 115 2-stroke Suzuki and it has been an excellent motor! I used to put nearly 200 hours per season on it and have never had any problems. The only bad thing about them is the lack of dealerships for them. Then again you'll probably never need one :)

I had a suzi 40HP and until I hit a big rock and tore it off the boat, it was a great engine..

I had to get home with the motor tied to the back of the boat with the anchor rope..

was a slow trip.

but thats not the motors fault.

good stuff suzi's..

rgds

Frank

chanb50-
I have them and have already had the 20 hour service . Engines are phenomenal. Clean, quiet, fuel efficient, powerful and not a miss or stall after 40 hours.

I live up on Long Island, NY near the Great South Bay. There are a lot of commercial baymen (clammers, crabbers, gill netters) on my canal. Almost to a man, they have Suzukis on their transoms. These guys are out there year round and have all said the same...routine maintenance and that's all I have to do. That's what influenced my decision to get the Suzuki's.

If you have a Suzuki dealer near you, that's icing on the cake. If not, Joe S.said it already, you probably won't need one anyhow!

I have an 83 Suzuki 50hp. It is a great engine. Suzuki has been building engines for a long time, and they know what they are doing. I don't have any problem getting parts from my local dealer.
