Suzuki 225 cooling system problem

I am looking at a used boat with twin Suzuki 225hp<br />outboards. The mechanic (auto mechanic) told the owner that the engines have rusty cooling jackets.<br />I believe the engines run fine. Are rusty cooling jackets something to be expected in outboards of 10-15 years old and do they signify a serious problem?

Get a marine mechanic. Have engines gone over thoroughly.<br /><br />Saltwater engines? Get two marine mechanics to go over them.

I would expect NO RUST. Or a mechanic to tell me why and it was acceptable.
