Hello all,
I have newly acquired an 05 Suzuki 4stroke DF30 for my 13' Inflatable Cat. After doing my initial test runs in the bay, everything checked to be okay. No warnings, no over revving, and a good stream coming from the pee hole. I finally took the boat out to my dive spot in open water. I did try to weave in and out through a huge kelp forest. After numerous times of getting kelp stuck in the prop and clearing and cutting it free, I no longer got a free stream of pee. I noticed it after running WOT to my dive spot. Meaning, I was running her wide open for a few minutes without water coming from the pee hole. And, not once has the overheat or red warning light came on at all. After a couple of times of tilting the motor up and back down again, I can get a free stream once again. But then after awhile their would be a very light trickle or anything at all coming out. Again, not one indication of overheating. Not once has the alarm came on or I lost any performance. I made it back to the dock like that with barely any water coming out and called it a day.
When I got home I washed the motor out through the hose port and I got a good strong stream out of the pee hole.
Can I get any recomendations on where to check for the loose particles of kelp causing the blockage.
Thank you all in advance,
Jeff
