My Suzuki 90 sat in the yard without running last year. This year, I have run into a bunch of problems and need some troubleshooting help. When it starts it runs very roughly for a while, eventually it will shut down and fail to restart. I have changed the external fuel filter, and have run new gas through a new (small) tank. I have also sprayed a fair amount of carb cleaner in the intakes but that doesn't seem to have done much.

Any ideas before I call in the pro's?

You will have to take those carbs off and rebuild them, soak in carbcleaner for 24hrs and blow out with compressed air, if a engine sat for so long the oil goes very sticky and blocks up all the little holes etc.

Thanks, that was what I was afraid of. My yard thinks there is also a problem with the water pump. The motor is probably a '92 or '93 - I am not sure if it is worth the $$ to have the yard do the work.

The carbs are easy enough to rebuild, test the engine after you've done this to see if you really have any waterpump problems before you start fiddling with something that actually work and spare yourself the frustration, also replace your spark plugs ....
