I have a 2003 DF70 with about 107 hours, the oil level is fine and voltage is over 14 volts. The last several times I started it up cold, the alarm beeps a couple of minutes after startup and the "check engine" light comes on, but not every time. The alarm is a series of 3 short beeps, a hesitation, then one more beep then repeats after about 5 seconds. The first 2 times the alarm quit following warm-up. Yesterday it was a little more persistent so I silenced it by pushing in the key, the "check engine" stayed on another 7 or 8 minutes then it went off. It won't do it once the engine is warm. The motor idles and runs perfect, it has fresh oil and fluids, and I've checked everything the manual suggests. The owners manual refers to alarms for low voltage, low oil, oil change reminders, etc., but none of these seem to apply. Does the rhythm and amount of beeps relate to specific probems or conditions? Or is this just another generic idiot light/alarm?

Re: Suzuki DF70 alarm

hi

when you just turn the key to "on", -check how many times the check engine flashes, f.e. one flash, short break, and three flashes. -I think the manual or a dealer can translate that to english 4 you. Otherwise i would suggeste that u get to a local suz dealer and let him hook up the computer, cause the emm (brain) of the engine saves past failcodes.

kind regards

john

Hi, Runaground.

A 3-1 code indicates that the IAC valve/Bypass air screw adjustment is off.

Your mixture is not correct during warm-up. Your dealer can correct that easily.

Good luck. :)

Thanks guys, I was hoping to spare a visit to the dealer but that definitely has "beyond home repair" written all over it.
