Hello,
I am working on a suzuki df70 that will not start, i think its a 2001. The owner was out using the boat when he jumped a small wave that he said he did not see, after which the motor would not start. I have checked the fuel system, lp and hp side, the compression is good and i have checked for a good spark at all plugs, again good. Whilst checking the plugs i tried to start the engine with one plug removed from one cylinder, the engine started although it was only running on the other two cylinders fed by the other coil. I replaced the plug and removed a plug from the other ignition coil and again it started, running on the two cylinders from the other coil. So here are my thoughts, is it possible for the flywheel to slip? is it possible that the coils are receiving their signals at the same time?
I have a manual for the suzuki df70 but it looks like this engine has a different setup under the flywheel. I think it is the magneto 01-09 model according to a parts diagram. This model is different because it has only one cps and a ignition timing relay, does anyone have the resistance values of these components?
Thanks for any help.
