Suzuki DF90 Compression Test

Looking for some additional info on performing the compression test on a Suzuki DF90.
I have the manual which includes some photos but I have never done this test before and want to be positive.

Specifically, I want to confirm that the motor will crank without the safety lanyard attached.
Secondly, I want to be sure I have disconnected the throttle appropriately and am holding is as required. Pictures would be great if possible.

Go ahead and pull the lanyard and turn the key. It will crank over but it will not start. I learned that the hard way when my motor wouldn't start and then noticed the lanyard had been pulled.
