I have never had to buy a service manual before and I was wondering if any of you could make a suggestion as to which service manuals are the best and why? I need the manual to cover basic maintenance, proper adjustments, and simple repairs for a 1992 DT40. I have read reviews about Seloc and Clymer alike but I would rather hear first hand testimony from the people who have actually used these manuals before I make my decision. Thanks for any help.

OC, I appreciate the link. Are the after market manuals inconsistent or not as thourough as the factory manuals?

Re: Suzuki DT40 Service Manual

I personally like the clymer manuals. I currently use them for both Merc and Suzuki and have found them great. Very easy to understand and they take a step-by-step approach at diagnostics and repair / tuneup, aided by clear pictures and diagrams. They are very thorough and cover the full engine.

I'm guessing the OEM service manuals are tailored at motor mechanics who have all the diagnostic tools at their fingertips. Clymers books are definately written with non-pro's in mind.
