Suzuki DT65 question

Hi, I just bought an old 84' Fisher 16 foot jon boat. It has a Suzuki DT65 on it and it's way to much motor for this smallish boat. It has tilt/trim and single cable steering. I haven't had it in the water yet as I am getting the transom repaired because the motor is so heavy it cracked the transom in a few spots and broke the transom brackets. It starts great and I was told it works great and will push the boat at around 45 MPH. I would like to trade someone for a smaller motor between 30 and 40 HP. Will this be enough to push me around 25 MPH with 2 or 3 passengers?

What is an engine like this worth? 1/4 of the skeg has been knocked off I assume from a rock or the road. Does anyone have any idea whether a marina would be interested in trading equally for my big motor for their smaller one or does that not happen a lot? I haven't had any time to find out but hopefully one of you might be able to help me out.

Thanks,
Jake

Re: Suzuki DT65 question

I'm in Eustis about 45 minutes north of Orlando. PM if you are interested. I just changed the plugs today and it's running smoothly and I took it out Saturday and it's pretty dang quiet.
