suzuki prop

Bought a used mercury prop# 48-42520. Was told Mercury supplied the props for these motors, was supposed to fit 97 Suzuki 8hp 2 stroke with 8 spline shaft. Also bought suzuki prop kit# 57630-92D00. The prop slides on fine but spacer in kit does not allow any room for prop nut or washer. Prop also doesnt sit recessed into housing like it should. I have a schematic but it doesnt help. Anyone have any experience with these?

Is the old thrust washer still in place?
I couldn't find a 8 hp 97 Suzuki 2 stroke in the prop section here.

I believe that would be Solas that makes props for Susuki.

I suggest that you check with a Suzuki dealer in your area for the right prop for your 1997 DT-8.

There were no old bushing or washers on shaft. Was told a 8 spline mercury prop from same yr would fit so got one on e bay for 40 bucks Mercury # 48-42520-7. Because it was a 8 spline it slid right on but unfortunately the prop hub was same diameter as housing which means that recessed part of hub wont make that seal for exhaust gases. I could make it work i guess by making my own spacer to keep hub from rubbing on housing but this would give me 1/16 inch opening between hub and housing which really not supposed to be there. Anyone need a mercury prop for 8 - 9hp 2stroke 8 spline shaft 86 - 97. For sale or trade
