I dont have the specs, but too much gap will cause low voltage, too small and the coil may hit the flywheel. If you are haveing ignition problems you should check the coils under the flywheel that power the ignition system.
hello<br /> should be about .012" to.oo8". but I never set them by gap. use a CD-77 meter and set the gap so the voltage is 2.0 minimum. best performance will be if you can get over5.0v. try to make them all as close as possible. use a crafstman offest phillips and you can do it without removing the flywheel. the CDI must be dissconected while doing the output test.<br /> good luck and keep posting
great info, thanks to all.<br /><br />i'll have to locate a cd 77 as i currently don't own one.<br /><br />just to clarify though, the air gap will affect the strength of the output but not any timing is that correct?
