Swap fuel pumps between '86 48SPL and '88 60 VRO?

I am getting ready to take my '86 48SPL off of RED SKY and mount the '88 60 VRO.

I am having a hard time finding room for the VRO oil tank in her.

What if I swap fuel pumps and make the 48SPL a VRO and the 60 a premix? I guess I would need to swap some of the wiring harness, too, huh?

What about just disabling the VRO and leave the pumps alone?

Does that sound like a good idea or should I continue to look for where to mount the oil tank?

Well ,as you might imagine my recommendation would be your latter idea.Disable the vro on the 60.The vro alarms on that vintage were not particularly reliable to begin with.
