I have a 1986 jason bass boat that im looking to get on the water but it has a bad outboard. i just came across a 22' cudie cabin with a good 150 black max 1994 im going to try to swap the outboards. my question is how do i go about that. i can get an engine lifer or a rather large forklift to do the lifting but where do i lift from is there a special lifting cradel or straps, is there a spot on the unit where i can attach a hook? also the gel coat on the jason is shot, it has years of neglect and sun abuse, it is rather rough and cant be buffed to a shine. can i apply a clear coat to give it a shine or will i have to sand and repaint the whole thing?

I have an older inline 4 cyl. Mercury and an even older inline 6 cyl. Mercury. Both use the same lifting ring which threads into the center of the flywheel. The parts house I deal with rents the rings but I bought one for about $35.00. Your motor might have the same set up.
