On my '05 Lowe FM165.
OMG, what a pain in the butt. There's a small access panel/vent near the back of the boat, where you can disconnect the line at. But this hole is maybe 5" across. There's only about 4" in depth. The connection is not directly over the hole either. It's offset, where it's directly under the outer ring of the hole.
I tried pushing the hose out with my screw driver but it wouldnt budge. I tried cutting it with a box knife, but with the shallow depth, it was so hard to get a decent angle. Eventually, I was able to cut up most of the rubber surrounding on the hose, but it still wouldn't pull out. In my case, push out, due to the angle. I notice the nozzle had this yellowish hue. I thought it was because it was brass. But it looked like it was stretching. So I scratched it with the knife and noticed it cut. So I guess this is the inner lining. It will not pull off. So I just kept knicking it with the knife and removed little pieces here and there. Eventually was able to rip it out. UGH.
Now putting it back on was another nightmare. The nipple is angled parallel to the boat. The exit hole for the line into the bilge, is at about a 45 degree angle. There isnt much room either between the nipple and the back of the boat. Maybe 5-6". Not to mention, in the back, there's an edge of metal that super sharp.
I eventually wiggle the line back on. The top of my hands are all cut up. The access hole is so small, the top of my wrists are all bruised up due to using it as leverage.
And here's where I installed the new W/S. Had to remove the top panel, to get access to the hidden fuel nipple.
While I was at it, installed the new circuit breaker. Going to upgrade my trolling motor 8AWG cables to 6AWG. Should be here next week.
The orange arrow is where the nozzle is.
