Ok, so I am wondering the best cruising speed for my boat this year, I only had it out a few times last year when I bought it. It's a 17' donzi bowrider with a 2.3 my WOT is 5400 (rpm) and speed around 30. My question is what RPM is best to use when running to the fishing grounds and not putting stress on things, a nice cruise speed of 23-25 probably around 3800 RPM on plane sounds nice and better for MPG. But is that too much prolonged over say 25 min. Ride? Thanks guys for your input to this

I think you're right on the money at 3800. Trust your ears. That 2.3 can run continuous at that rpm indefinitely- no problem.

You have ears, eyes, and seat of the pants. All of those tell you what's best -- for the current conditions and load.

yes, although it runs great full throttle on glass like conditions. I was not sure if running WOT prolonged at 5400 RPM is a bad thing? other than drinking fuel! and getting there a little faster :)
