I am about to buy a new 18ft pontoon. (private lake restricts length to 18ft and 15 hp). I have 2 price quotes within $100. Should I go with a 2013 G3 with an 8.5 ft beam or a similarly equipped 2014 Sweetwater with an 8 ft beam. My dock is exactly 10 ft. wide. Both boats have 25 inch tubes and the same warranty. A neighbor complains that their G3 takes water over the front deck on occasion but it is older and may have smaller tubes. Both dealers have good reputations. The G3 is black and the Sweetwater is Taupe, I prefer the lighter color.
