Swim ladder too short, or I'm too old?

I have a 92' maxum 1800 xr with a outboard. Fiberglass covered swim platforms on both side of the motor. One platform has a one step retractable aluminum tube ladder bolted to the under side of it. A two/three step would be better. Any recommendations, brands, anyone done it, issues in the change? Thanks!

I put in a 4 step telescoping ladder from Windline, although a 3 step would have been plenty. I made sure to check the dimensions so that it would swing cleanly - it was tight, but made it OK. I had to drill new holes for mounting it - I couldn't find an exact match. Also, I added a bungee to hold it while trailering since it would hit the road if it opened up.

I have a single-step ladder that I frequently use, even while diving. I have found that even with full gear (BC, tank, fins, weights, mask, etc.) if I put both feet on the rung, grab the rail in one hand, the splashwell in the other, then swing my weight forward, I can easily board the boat.

That being said, the telescoping ladders are probably easier to use.
