It has arrived... :D

It was delivered today while I was at work. Currently sitting on the driveway next to the boat, in a very large crate. I took the day off tomorrow to install it, hopefully in one day. Ordered from Mountain Marine. I will post before, during and after shots. Wish me luck...

Re: Swim Platform

I added one to my old tug this season.
It sure beats climbing up the outdrive.

I have an 85 Celebrity. Full teak platform was in bad shape. Took it to a Rhino-liner shop where they spray on truck bed lining. Cost me $100. I's awesome now. I highly recommend.

$750 (plus $270 for the crate and shipping).

Have to come in and wash off. The cut was a bit off and had to trim a bit off the back to make it flush. Very itchy!!

Texan,
Was wondering...
If you could can you get a pic of the bracket system used on that platform?

Thanks,
Mike

HOLY CRAP!!!! What did I hit?!?! When drilling the final two holes in the transom, water started pouring out! What did I hit!?! The water is clear. It is not lake water. The bilge is dry.

I've tried looking in the engine compartment, but cannot find the spot where the hole is. Anyone know!?!

It's not uncommon to have water pour out like that, it means there's a gap between the wood and glass that filled up from water leaking in. The leak may be in the top of the transom, an unsealed srew, rub rail gap, or many other things. I've had it happen when mounting transducers.

you will love that platform. I put one on mine last year from swimplatforms.com- they did an awsum job. My boat is so old they didn't have a pattern of the transom. I made a cardboard template and sent them about a hundred pictures and measurements. It came in a big crate , had to trim a little bit with a saber-saw. went on in about 2 hrs. I highly recomend them. cost about $1200 with the deluxe ladder.

Ok

The consensus seems to lean towards rain water trapped in the transom. At least it's out now. Maybe I'll put a drain plug there...

Anyway, the job is finished and it looks great! Will take it out on Saturday. Can't wait. Think I'll add a burgundy pinstripe...

Pierutrus, I would say it weighs around 50lbs, give or take.

Here's the finished product:

That's an excellent addition to your boat. Looks cool and I'm sure would make swimming from it a hell of a lot more fun!
