We added a Hurley davit system to the boat for the dinghy.
Works like a champ.

Re: Swim step davit system

Looks like you could rotate the rack to store the boat on its side? Or does it rotate to easily get the boat in and out of the water? Don't need one for myself......kinda cool though. Nice job!

BTW--how do you like your Cabrio?...we just traded a Chaparral cuddy for a 2008 260. Can't wait to take possession...have to wait til the first of May up in Upstate New York. Wish Larson had an owner's forum like Chapparal. Great place to kibitz about our boats.

No real way to rack it on its side. To launch, just take the tie downs off (haven't dropped one over board yet but I know it is coming) tilt it up and in she goes. To recover, we just grab the hand lines on the dinghy and pull it up and it just flops down. I grab it near the stern because if the weight of the OB. You can pull it on bow first too.

We really like the 310. We had a 1998 Bayliner 2655 before we got this one. Our marina is a Larson dealer and in 2009 he liquidated his inventory. We looked at the 260 and the 290 but liked the room in the 310. We got this one with 6 hours on the clocks, and full new boat warranties intact for about 38 cents on the dollar-plus a year's rent in the dry store.

Other than the davits, we added the KVH1 Tracvision satelite receiver for Directv. We spend a lot of weekends on the hook and it was a great addition. Do not know what year yours is but from 2002-2010 Volvo had some substandard priming and paint issues with the outdrives. We knew that going in and had them re-done this fall. Do not know how they are in fresh water but the salt water really chewed the paint off them.
Before with about 200 hours and after

Know what you mean about the forum. We still hang out on the Bayliner one http://www.baylinerownersclub.org/forum/index.php
