Swing bracket question

I have a question on a 1999 10 HP. Recently while driving back home from a fishing trip, somehow the swivel bracket bent, causing the motor to remain in the down position. I have ordered replacement parts for the brackets that were bent, but I'm not quite sure how to install the new parts. I've included a picture of the damaged motor along with the parts diagram. I've purchase parts 97 & 102. My question, is how do you get out part # 94? It doesn't appear to be a pin - in fact, the parts book calls it a TILT LOCK PIN. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm going to take a stab at it this afternoon after work.

KB
Re: Swing bracket question

First off, you need to know what caused this bracket to bend. Odds are that the trailer was bouncin' and the motor was pounding on the bracket. After replacing, you should bungee the motor securely so it won't reoccur when trailering. Part # 94 appears to be a shoulder bolt retained by nut #73. If you swing the motor up as high as it goes, secure it, you may have access to the head of #94 bolt. If #94 head is knurled and has no method to hold (allen cap, hex, slot, etc..), hold it with water pump pliers or vice grips and use socket on #73 nut. You might want to soak it with penetrant before attempting.
Good luck and post results.
PS It appears you'll have to remove Screw #62 in order to get the release lever #95 and the bent bracket #97 off. Be sure to note the assembly of the #93 tubes as they will fall out when you pull screw #62.

Re: Swing bracket question

Thanks for the reply- managed to get the parts replaced last night. There's a screw (#54) which once loosened, allowed the hinge pin to come out in two pieces. Was a bit of a pain getting the parts lined up again, but she's all back together.

KB
