Switch box interchangability

I am trying to find a used switchbox for my 78 merc 1150. The box that is in it is a 332-2986A21. Will a 332-2986A22 work? On a side note, I am a real novice, but with help from this board I have fixed the charging problem on my motor and have it running great. Thanks for a great resource.

Yes it will work. A21 and A22 are just revision levels.

Thanks IBNFSHN. My switchbox is still working, but the terminals are badly corroded. Thanks again for the fast reply.

Well I don't think so. A 2986a21 superseded from a 2915A 3 to a 2986A 4 to the 2986A 21, all used on outboards. The 2986A22 superseds to a A27 and is used on Mercrusier engines.
