switch panel hook up?

Re: switch panel hook up?

In summary.
One lead goes to the Electric choke on the engine. (And most likely also the Ignition Coil.)
The other goes to the Panel fuses but the Gauges share the fuse with the bilge pump.

Recommendation,
The gauges should remain fuse protected.
Move the gauge supply over to the ACC FUSE.
Isolated the ACC FUSE Supply from the other three fuses.
Supply the Bilge Pump, NAV and Blower (3) Fuses directly from the Un-switched 12v power.
Supply the ACC Fuse from the Switched, Small RED side, of the Key Switch.

ACC and Gauges will shut off with the key. The other 3 will be hot continuously as desired.
It is a little complicated but easily doable for a little effort and almost no cost.

Alternately, add an under panel, in-line fuse to the Gauge supply and move it to the key switch.

We are closer!

Re: switch panel hook up?

Update......
1. Hooked panel feed direct to big red power on key switch….so all panel switches work without the key on.
2. Cut the oil pressure feed wire coming from the back of the fuse…inserted a 20 amp inline fuse and hooked direct to small red (Tach wire) key switch…so now when I turn the key on the gauges work.

Did this last night and all seams to work…Hit Acc switch and radio comes on…..hit key switch and gauges work.

Check the voltage on battery and had 12.58 volts…So tonight I will check the voltage again to see if it's holding volts and check to see if the boat starts.

Thanks and i will update.
