Well after examining the Eddy it was just to far gone for me to put the time into her.Too many issues and not enough time and space to address them all. Lower unit was buried halfway up the prop in the ground from sitting on flat tires, black type mold all over her,all trim pulled or falling off etc. etc.Just had poor ownership written all over her.
Soooo I hit Craigs hard and went two cities over and located a Niagara.Well since i spent my early childhood plying those waters as well as today, I pulled the trigger over the phone on a boat named after my stomping grounds. Who can blame me? I did not even ask the Mrs as this is my third boat purchase in the last two months.I will hide it at a friends property though untill next spring, I am not completly dumb. She is a 1966 with the blue trim, so I will name her after my first and only grandaughter ,Trinci Blue.Seats look to be aftermarket from a while back but everything else is stock my unofficial picture rating is a 8 to 9 out of 10. My only question is it comes with a 1966 60 hp JBoy and from what I read the HP rating for her is 50.Even the picture from the brochure on FiberG looks like a 60hp. So if it was setup from the dealer like this and apparently lasted 44 years do I worry about it ? I think not as my kids say I live on the edge anyway. Picking her up Saturday after a sea trial on Lake Canadaigua then to her rightful place on the NIAGARA for a Sunday run.I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve right now.Anchors aweigh Mr 88

I wanted to buy it , but I had a hard time accepting the fact that a 1966 V4 weighing in at like 400 lbs was the right call. Mattter of fact the tag on the transom, which seemed to be solid, read 45 HP max. How can a dealer put on a overrated HP? Anyway I drove a total of 3 hours and said thanks. but no thanks.

I have a '69 55 HP Johnnie on a '70 13' Carefree. Mine is rated @ 35hp. My wife's uncle bought the whole setup new in Oneonta. I guess the dealers didn't worry too much back then. By the way, that is just about the right amount of power to pull skiers with mine. Not to worry.
