Hello,
I am having an issue with our port side engine. The engine is a Yamaha LF225TXRC. Sometimes when I switch from idle to neutral the engine cuts off. I have read and searched the net for a couple days and have found multiple sites with this topic. The part in question is called a variation of names but generally it is called "shift cutout switch" or "shift position switch". I know that these two switches may be different switches, but need clarification on that. I also am aware that it could be a stretched cable. I was hoping that someone may be able to provide me with a picture of the part location and a part number. I cannot seem to find the part on any of the sites.

I don't know any specifics about that engine, but that kind of switch is traditionally on a cam on the shift lever and momentarily slows the engine while shifting by cutting the ignition. It is probably a mechanical switch and may be on the shift linkage or even in the control lever at the helm.
