The question/problem I got is his old boat has a great running Mariner 75 on it.The new boat has the holes already in the transom and after my measurements I took will bolt right on with no issues.I was looking at the steering controls and wiring and see they look to be different

Am I going to have to change all of the controls and steering wheel and such to get this thing to run,or do they make a kit of some such to make this conversion ? I have no clue as to the year of the motor. The Throttle and Shift cables are a match on the whole control box and cables are only about a year old. Thanks in advance,,Odie241

Re: Switching Motor From Old Boat To New Boat Question

Well the old boat was rigged thru the tilt tube and the new boat has a splashwell rig.
You should be able to just bolt the motor to the new boat and connect the splashwell steering as is.
I had the same thing on my boat but the splashwell plate got too rusty and rotted.
I was able to remove the outer aluminum tube and the cable was long enough to reach the tilt tube although I had to drill a new hole in the spashwell inline with the tilt tube...I had the linkage already.

Re: Switching Motor From Old Boat To New Boat Question

Thanks Red,I am switching the motors tomorrow night.I have a few wiring issues to deal with as the old bolt had more wires then the new boat, the steering issue sounds like you explained it pretty well. Thanks for your insights and reply,I will post what I get figured out tomorrow
