Anybody in texas know a good place to get an outdrive rebuilt my upper is bad also have been weighing my options of finding a good used or finding a rebuilt. I just purchased the boat knowing that the out drive was bad due to the previous owner running it out of oil. The boat is a 1996 crownline with a penta volvo 350 and an sx-c1 out drive ratio 1.60. So if anybody knows of a good used one for sale or a good place to send mine to get rebuilt let me know. Thanks

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...

If it was run on low/ no oil,...
Yer lower needs rebuildin' as well...
All of the busted junk from the upper, falls into the lower, trashin' it...

Re: sx-c1 rebuild question

I agree the lower needs to be pulled apart, inspected & resealed if it is still good. For what this outdrive cost I had planned to get a rebuilt upper or used which ever I can find first than I am going to get the lower inspected to see if it can be resealed or just go ahead get rebuilt at the same time so I do not want to do this again. On a side note this boat has alot of hours on it in the 1200 hour range. Wish the owner was right he thought the motor was bad boy was he wrong motors are very easy for me that is why I got it. O well live & learn.

Will a complete sx-m with a 1.60 ratio work in place of the sx-c1 outdrive on my boat.
