T-Bolts for fastening post seats on the cheap

Does anyone know how to get tbolts to fasten the post for seats without paying $35 a piece for the t-bolt? There has to be a way to get a ss t bolt and get it to fasten down so we can bolt it with the chair.

It is hard to explain but I am sure some veterans out there know what I am talking about.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Can you post a pic for us? I know of t-bolts that are long-handled bolts and then there are t-bolts like hose clamps and also t-nuts which are 3-pronged to dig into the wood when receiving a bolt.

A pic would help.

Sounds like you mean "Togglers", which are a special type of toggle bolt that holds the nut without a bolt. WM sells the SS ones ($12.99 each for 3/8"), but if you can get by with steel, just buy them at HDepot for less.

Do you have a thin floor? If not just use some fat screws for it. If you have a cheap floor then spend the money or youl be replacing the steel ones in the next year or so.

I just replaced the deck with 1/2 in. I did adhear another 1/2 strip between the stringers underneath. I have an inch to go through.

You can get T nuts at the big box hardware stores, barbed or unbarbed, though they are only a blind fastener if you put them in before you put the floor down, or have access to underneath the floor. You essentially get to put threaded holes in the floor to bolt into.
