Re: T tops

I have thought long and hard on this one. My only obstacle is my lack of a TIG welder for aluminum and the lack of skill in welding aluminum. I have thought about something that could be bolted together, but after awhile it would get loose and rickety. In the end I'll either never get one or get one of those universal prefab ones for $500.

I'm going to have to figure out how to get my pictures from my camera, to here.......

I build a Semi-Rigid Bimini out of parts of Hospital Beds, Railroad Crossings,+ Scrap Aluminum Conduit..........

A Mig Welder is All you need.... Forget the Tig......
It cost me Less than $200. for a Mig, on ebay......
And, Another $1000. for the Windows I Had Made .....

wraenking,
and have one built
That's where your plan Goes Bust..........
These things are Labor Intensive.......

That alumaloy stuff on tv could be an option vs. the TIG for aluminum. I tried welding aluminum with my gas welder and the wire would always bind. Check out www.alumaloy.com - I know someone who used it and his only complaint was that it's not as easy as they show it - but the bond it makes is very strong. He used it for a hand rail (made of aluminum).
