I'm back to saying the issue is the Tach. In fact it is definitely messed up. 19 pitch, 1.68, 3600 RPM and 40 MPH (GPS) = negative 3% slip. Not gonna happen. I am guessing you are very close to 4400 RPM with the data you have given us. Have you checked if there is a switch behind the tach for 4, 6 or 8 Cyl?

Yea, it was with the gps (40mph) and no I have not checked for the switch on the tach. Will do this weekend 40mph is good for me if thats all I can get but want to make sure the rpm's are right, will check and update Thanks for all your help......

OK checked the manual and it said tach. should be set for 6 cyl. on number 3 back of tach. numbers are 1 thur 4 2=4cyl. 3=6 and 4=8. QC I think you are right it was set to #2 witch is for 4cyl. I did set to #3 now have to wait to test again was going to take to silverwood tomorrow but the weather is not looking good. If weather is not to bad might take out any how if it is will test as soon as possible and update plus then I can get my smart tabs on. Thanks again.....

OK got back out today with the tach. switched to the right number in the manual but it showed lower rpm,s so I think no I know the tach. must be wrong it showed 3,000 rpm,s and still ran 40 mph. motor sounds great but tack shows wrong numbers so I will have to change tach. to read right thanks for all the help just updateing this post.....
