Tach for Force 85

Any recommendations for a tachometer to use with a 1985 Force 85HP.

It's on a 1985 16 foot Bayliner Capri and the purple tach wire is present under the dashboard.

you need a 20 pole tach and I think you can only get those used off of ebay. in 1985 they were round on Bayliner - in 1986-1988 i think they were square. Best bet is to get one that was out of a bayliner with a Force engine from 1984-1994. I think the ones in my boat are medallion.

You can find new ones.
Try Faria, Teleflex and Amazon and e-bay.

Most adds don't specify 12 or 20 pole.
Make sure you specify.

The square ones all fit in a round hole.
The link Skidad gave you will work but the new ones cost about the same.
And 60$ for a 28year old tach???
