when cruising in a 1988 sprectrum with the pinto 2.3 the tach jumps 200-300 rpms all the time. but the boat sounds healthy ( for a pinto) do i need new points and condenser. i just put in new spark plugs or is this just a boat thing
yep, along with cap and rotor too...... tune up parts are once a year replacements if ya want yer rig to run as well as it can..... along with dwell and time it....

I had a similar prob with my tach, I moved the switch on the back and then moved it back to it s original position, old tach, I think there was some corrosion in it, and yep, I know I need a new one,
do i need new points and condenser. i just put in new spark plugs or is this just a boat thing
