Tach Merc to evinrude

Hi everyone. I recently changed my outboard engine from a merc to an evinrude. Know i had a tach with the merc is it possible to use this same tach in my dash for the evinrude? Could the merc tach be riged to work with the OMC control harness. The Omc is three wire and the merc tach has three wires also Thanks in advance

a tach is a tach, yes, gray wire is sender wire.

Most Tachs will work on both motors. The exception is the old quicksilver tachs, and some OMC tachs from the 60s. if the tach in question is a aftermarket, that runs off the stator, you may need to adjust the setting. Some evinrudes need a 5p setting. Most Mercs use a 6p setting.
