Took my Glastron GX-255 out on Lake Mead yesterday, 1st time on the water in 2 years.
Boat ran well, but noticed that the tach was not always displaying the right information. On occasion, while idling, it would indicate 1500 rpms (engine was at idle about 700 rpm) increase engine speed and it still read 1500. While traveling 40 mph, it read 3000 rpms. When I sped up or slowed down there was no change. It seemed to work find for the rest of the time (2 hours).

Re: Tach Problems

Try rotating the pole selector switch on the back af the tach a few times. A slight bit of corrosion on hte switch can cause erratic readings. Rotating the switch fixed two tachs on my boat.
